Judah 1st Birthdays, yes he had many parties!

Judah turns 1!:)

Yes, our baby boy is 1 today. I cant believe it sometimes. The year went by fast, it really did seem like yesterday was when we brought him home for the first time and yet he is walking and talking now.

I woke up to him crying at 6am this morning. I was happy to go tell him happy birthday even though he had no idea what it meant, I did and I was super excited to do it. After I fed him to my surprise he went back to sleep. I got to go down stairs, make coffee, and get in the Word. I have been reading this book, "Shepherding a Child's Heart". What I read today was all about raising your children in either to please the world and people around you or to please God.

I thought about this concept a lot....concept: What is acceptable behavior?. Often I think we define acceptable behavior based on what others think not what God thinks. So after 1 year of being a parent I have finally reached an objective to parenting. Is to glorify GOD. Simple no but important YES.

Psalm 73:25 "Whom have I in heaven but You? ANd there is none upon earth that I desire besides YOU."

If we can get Judah to mediate on the this verse for life here on earth then YEA! that is success; not education, money, nice home, or any materials objects. True happiness comes from God alone not from friends, marriage, children.

How do we meet this objective daily? We must make the content of our everyday life to fit the objective to glorify GOD. Often we are the subject to powerful influence in our culture when it comes to raising our children, we should always ask ourselves "What does God think of this? not what do they think of this....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUDAH!!!

Love, Mommy

What to blog about?

Ummmm. The kid is asleep and I have most of the housework done and I am so sick of the internet, it totally can suck me in for hours. I need to pray for the Bible to suck me in for hours. Why is that so hard? So useless pieces of @#$$ like the TV, Computer, junk food , ect can suck you in for hours but the thing that matters the most is the most difficult to find time for....I am sure I had a run on sentence in there. And as I am typing this I am the computer, "isnt Ironic dont you think? I little to ironic...." Yes I just broke out in song!

Well I have started babysitting a little girl that is 15 months and things are going really well. Except she will not eat a thing but goldfish and milk. I guess when she is hungry enough she will eat, I can not force her to eat. Other than that she is wonderful! The decision of babysitting has actually been a blessing! Thank you Big Guy!

Judah is almost walking, he is so super close. He is pointing to everything asking "What is that?" in baby language it sounds like "whatagsthat" So I am constantly explaining what things are, which I enjoy. Mostly because he likes he is really paying attention to me and after all I am a first born. I love the attention!

We have Aunt Ginny coming for a week, exciting! I need to make a to do list. Not for Ginny but for me and she can hang out with the little guy. Erik painted out bedroom this past weekend and so I need to some touch up paint. We NEED to go to a movie, the last time we went I was about 8 months pregnant and I had to pee so much I could not enjoy the movie.

Wasting time pro! I am going to go pray before the craziness of this afternoon starts. It is small group night and it is always crazy!

Quickest Recovery in Judah History

As many of you know our little Judah has had the battle with the lungs, Asthma. Starting at 2 months we have been in out of the Drs. office and even a hospital stay as Judah dukes it out with the viruses and them attacking him in his lungs. We have been on drugs after drugs but they still sneak up on us. Recently however we have started Chiropractic care and this has been his first attack in 3 months, the longest we have ever gone thus far.

Tuesday evening he started to get congested. Wednesday morning we went and got adjusted. Wednesday evening Asthma cam upon us and by Thursday late evening Judah was feeling much better. Well he won this battle! Viruses still have many more wins.

I am so excited about this bc as many of you know respiratory illnesses can last for weeks and usually with Judah we stay on meds for weeks. Today the Doc said we can go and ahead and take him off that he is so surprised in his progress. A miracle of prayers, YES and I would also say Chiropractic care did have something do with this super quick recovery and a Win for the Judah team

Thanks for the prayers! I do think we are on to something with this Chiropractic care, so thanks be to God for wisdom.

My food for my thoughts

I have been reading "Lies Women Believe" and it has been very convicting. The problem we are so often convicted of things and yet we do not change. I want to apply my convictions to my life.

Anyways the book is about our culture in relation to God and what he says we should do. Which in every situation is seek him daily. I am not the best at this. God loves and wants the best for us, who knew?!

Today's Lie:
"I have to have a husband to be happy"

What a huge lie we often believe? Our hubbies do make us happy! The problem is that as soon as our hubby no longers makes us happy we bring up the "D" word. Just like we always want more clothes, bigger house, nicer things, more kids bc nothing is ever good enough for us neither our are hubbies or friends for that matter.

God has designed himself and us that without him we will never be fulfilled. Often times we want our husbands to meet all of our needs and give us all that we want. What pressure we put on them? How unfair of us?

The truth is that GOD can meet all of are needs and we should be satisfied with what God has given us and be thankful it.

I am not the blogger I thought I was

Ok It has been since Nov.20th since I have blogged. WOW! I originally thought I would be good at this. Facebook really became my blog but I am a bit tired of FB so back to blog. I have commitment issues.

Well Judah is 10 months old. So lots of changes. Things that stick out about him is he has 6 teeth, crawling everywhere, and he loves balls and dogs! He has actually started his own b-ball game. You know the old putting balls in a bucket. We are so proud of him and he is so proud of himself.

Erik is still working at Brickman and just passed his irrigation test! Yeah! If anyone needs repairs or install he is you guy. He is such a good Daddy. We got a bike seat for Judah and Erik loves it. He let me nap on Sunday and took Judah on bike ride. Judah lights up when Daddy gets home.

As for me I am enjoying being a Mommy. Its the best thing ever. I am so blessed to have a hubby that works hard so that I can stay home with our son. I also love being a wife. Although I feel like I have been out of practice at being a loving caring "helper" wife. I so need prayer on that aspect of my life.

I will be a better blogger. So keeping looking for more posts to come.:)
